Extol Trust Apple Regional Centre (Hartlepool)

Extol Trust was accredited with 'Apple Regional Training Centre' status early in 2026.

We are incredibly proud of this status, being recognised as a dedicated hub for professional learning. We provide a local space where educators from across the region can come together to build skills, share best practices and develop the confidence to use Apple technology meaningfully inside and outside the classroom.

What is an Apple Regional Training Centre?

Apple Regional Training Centres are a community of educators and institutions that provide free, hands-on training for teachers. Rooted in community and built on collaboration, RTCs help educators explore the potential of Apple technology to enhance teaching and learning where it matters most.

Being selected as an Apple RTC highlights our ongoing commitment to digital innovation and facilitating high-quality professional development for teachers.

Our Mission

Across the UK and Ireland, the goals of all Apple Regional Training Centres are united. As part of this network, our mission is to:

Facilitate training opportunities for teachers to develop skills using Apple technology in the classroom
Promote Apple in Education and share new products and innovations with educators
Build Apple Teachers across the region
Share best practices, build community and inspire excellence

What We Offer

Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the basics of iPad, or an experienced user wanting to push the boundaries of digital creativity, our training is designed for you. Our focus is always on pedagogy first, technology second.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of free online and face-to-face courses covering topics such as:

Creative learning and multimedia on iPad
Productivity and workflow
Accessibility and inclusion using built-in Apple features
Digital assessment and feedback tools
Coding and computational thinking with Swift

Become an Apple Teacher

A core part of our mission is supporting educators to attain Apple Teacher status. Apple Teacher is a free, self-paced professional learning programme that recognises and celebrates educators who use Mac and iPad for teaching and learning.

By attending our RTC events, you will build the foundational knowledge needed to earn badges and achieve your official Apple Teacher recognition.
